Chapter Six

Jamie

When I wake up the next morning to the sound of crashing furniture and Stella’s commanding voice drifting up the stairs to me, I lie there for a minute, smiling to myself. It had been a true force of will to tear myself away from her yesterday, but this woman—this maddening, beautiful, ambitious, strong-willed woman—she’s the real deal. She’s more than a one-night stand or a vacation fling. She’s my future. I’m going to figure out how to make this work, and if that means taking it slow, then that’s what I’ll do.

But that doesn’t stop me from picturing her while I’m in the shower—her plump, pink lips wrapped around my cock, or the weight of her glorious tits in my hands while fucking her from behind against the glass door. It’s been a long time since we were all under one roof. It reminds me of Christmases when we were younger—loud, chaotic, fun. I’ve missed this. The only thing that would make it better is to be able to share it with Stella.

I greet them as I push my way through, following someone carrying a table down the hall to the east wing. I end up in the barely used ballroom, my eyes scanning the busy workers looking for one woman in particular. Sure enough, Stella is standing in the middle of a whirlwind of people, waving her hands around like she’s directing some kind of chaotic orchestra. She looks beautiful and festive in a red dress that hugs her curves, and bright red lipstick to match. Her curls are pulled back in a tight bun. I have to admit, I prefer her with helmet hair.

Sneaking up behind her, I grab her waist and squeeze affectionately, pulling her back against me.

She gives a tiny shriek and jumps away from me. “Jamie, what are you doing?” she asks.

Not exactly the warm welcome I’d been expecting. I hold out my arms. “I’m here to help.”

Narrowing her eyes, she glances down at the notepad in her hand. “If you really want to help, you’ll let me know what’s going on with the caterer.”

“Leo?” I tuck my hands in my pockets, knowing full-well that he is completely on board and emailing over the menu in a couple of hours. “It will cost you.”

“Jamie, I’m not playing around,” she says sternly.

My brows furrow as I realize she isn’t.
